LIONFISH INVASION IN THE MEDITERRANEAN
Lionfish (Pterois spp.), with their venomous spines and voracious appetite, are an invasive species causing significant ecological damage. A single lionfish can consume up to 50,000 native reef fish in its lifetime. This disrupts marine ecosystems, accelerates coral reef decline, and contributes to the imbalance of coastal environments. Their rapid reproduction—30,000 eggs every 2 to 4 days—makes their population almost impossible to control without human intervention.

Virtual Reality has proven to be a transformative educational tool, offering interactive, hands-on learning experiences. Research shows it enhances engagement and retention while enabling safe practice of skills in simulated high-pressure environments.
